Chestnut's Story...
Chestnuts will be roasting by an open fire this Christmas, with Jack Frost nipping at your nose. What better way to stay warm and cozy than with an adorable little friend tucked under your arm ... meet our Chestnut, 2 years old, all of 9 pounds and cute as a button. Chestnut comes to us from NYC Animal Care and Control, where he was turned in as a stray. He is a very sweet and gentle boy who gets along well with kids as well as other pets. Chestnut is a true lap puppy who would be content to kiss and cuddle with his owner all day long ... if only there were an owner in the picture!! Chestnut has been neutered, microchipped, is up-to-date on all shots, and has tested negative for heartworm. He will be professionally groomed before adoption and will go home with a new leash and collar. If you would like to adopt Chesnut, please email and request an application. He'll make the perfect addition in this year's holiday photographs!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Chestnut, a Flushing Chihuahua dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Chihuahua for sale in Flushing, or seeking a Chihuahua dog from a breeder in Flushing.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Flushing already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Flushing breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Chihuahua breeders who help with Chihuahua rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Flushing paves the way for another one to be saved.
