Lear Jet's Story...

Fly away with our Lear Jet - a 4 year old jet black male Cocker Spaniel who comes to us from the Staten Island Shelter. Despite being somewhat of a special needs boy, 'LJ' is loyal, loving and true. LJ came into rescue with ears so calcified and infected that total ear canal ablation surgery ('TECA') was the only option. Thankfully, his story touched many hearts, with the result that we were able to raise sufficient funds to pay for his surgical bill. Although LJ is now hearing impaired (the result of any TECA procedure), in no way has his handicap affected his wonderful disposition. LJ will make an excellent family dog and could easily join a multiple pet household. LJ has been neutered, microchipped, is current on all shots, and has tested negative for heartworm. LJ will be professionally groomed before adoption and will go home with a new leash and collar. If you would like to adopt LJ or foster him while he awaits his forever family, please email rescue@nyabandonedangels.com and request an application. Meet our Lear Jet and feel your heart soar.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Lear Jet, a Flushing Cocker Spaniel dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Cocker Spaniel for sale in Flushing, or seeking a Cocker Spaniel dog from a breeder in Flushing.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Flushing already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Flushing breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Cocker Spaniel breeders who help with Cocker Spaniel rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Flushing paves the way for another one to be saved.
