Mary's Story...
Mary is a 12 year old female buff Cocker Spaniel who is ready to show you what an old girl can do! She is still a lovable, playful girl who enjoys the company of other pets, as well as older children. Mary has been spayed, microchipped, updated on all vaccines, and heartworm tested negative. She does have some health issues - both a heart murmur and Cushings - which are being treated with oral medication. She will need these meds for life - these will be provided by rescue. Mary is a well-adjusted girl who would make a wonderful foster dog for someone interested in opening their home to an older dog who would otherwise have no place to live out her later years. She will go home professionally groomed, with a new leash and collar. If you would be interested in offering Mary a place to hang her hat, please email rescue@nyabandonedangels.com. Thank you!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Mary, a Flushing Cocker Spaniel dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Cocker Spaniel for sale in Flushing, or seeking a Cocker Spaniel dog from a breeder in Flushing.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Flushing already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Flushing breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Cocker Spaniel breeders who help with Cocker Spaniel rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Flushing paves the way for another one to be saved.
