Mimi's Story...
Meet our bookworm, Mimi. Her life has been a story of suspense. Mimi is a beautiful sable Cocker Spaniel roughly 5 years old. She was found as a stray some time ago by a good samaritan, who provided Mimi with a home. Sadly, her finder's life circumstances have now changed, with the result that Mimi is being surrendered to rescue. Mimi bears many emotional scars from her early life, with the result that she requires an adult only home, preferably one with prior Cocker Spaniel experience. Experience with troubled dogs would also be a plus. Mimi has been living with another dog, so could easily join a multiple pet household. Mimi has been spayed, microchipped, is up-to-date on all shots and has tested negative for heartworm. She will be professionally groomed before adoption and will go home with a new leash and collar. If you would like to adopt or foster Mimi as she continues her recovery, please email rescue@nyabandonedangels.com and request an application. Mimi is ready to begin a new chapter in her life.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Mimi, a Flushing Cocker Spaniel dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Cocker Spaniel for sale in Flushing, or seeking a Cocker Spaniel dog from a breeder in Flushing.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Flushing already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Flushing breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Cocker Spaniel breeders who help with Cocker Spaniel rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Flushing paves the way for another one to be saved.
