Oscar de la Renta's Story...
Ready for a little glitz and glamour? Meet Oscar de la Renta. This handsome red Cocker Spaniel is just 2-3 years old. We believe him to be a purebred English Cocker (or a high mix of English with a hint of American thrown in for good measure). For a male Cocker Spaniel, Oscar is a smallish dog, weighing under 25 pounds. Oscar is coming to us from the Manhattan Shelter, where he was turned in as a stray, having been found wandering in a city park. Although matted and filthy, underneath it all he still looked chic. Oscar received an excellent shelter evaluation. His behavior is mild enough that he could be placed in a home with kids. He also appears to get along well with dogs as well as cats, so could easily join a multiple pet household. Oscar has been neutered, microchipped, is up-to-date on all shots, and has tested negative for heartworm. He will be professionally groomed before adoption and will go home with a new leash and collar. If you would like to adopt Oscar, please email rescue@nyabandonedangels.com and request an application. For style as well as substance, whether on the red carpet or snug at home, you need look no further ... Oscar is the dog for you!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Oscar de la Renta, a Flushing Cocker Spaniel dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Cocker Spaniel for sale in Flushing, or seeking a Cocker Spaniel dog from a breeder in Flushing.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Flushing already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Flushing breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Cocker Spaniel breeders who help with Cocker Spaniel rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Flushing paves the way for another one to be saved.
