Prancer's Story...
We recently had a group of black and white male Cocker Spaniels come into rescue. Dasher, Comet, Cupid and Vixen were quickly adopted, leaving behind just one lone reindeer - Prancer - an equally handsome black and white boy just one year old. Unlike his brothers, our Prancer has had a harder time adjusting to life in rescue. He is a little less confident and will therefore need somewhat more time to trust and settle once in a new home. Prancer has been neutered, microchipped, is current on all shots, and has tested negative for heartworm. He will be professionally groomed before adoption and will go home with a new leash and collar. If you are ready to fly away with Prancer, please email rescue@nyabandonedangels.com and request an application. All the other reindeer now having taken flight, Prancer is in need of a friend to help him fly.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Prancer, a Flushing Cocker Spaniel dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Cocker Spaniel for sale in Flushing, or seeking a Cocker Spaniel dog from a breeder in Flushing.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Flushing already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Flushing breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Cocker Spaniel breeders who help with Cocker Spaniel rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Flushing paves the way for another one to be saved.
