Sybil's Story...

Hello, my name is Sybil. I am a purebred female Beagle just 5 years old. I was recently surrendered to Animal Care and Control of NYC by a family who no longer wanted me. Of course this turn of events was not my fault. I am a great dog with a great temperament and would swear before Congress that I did nothing wrong. Sadly, I was simply deemed disposable, like some kind of old news. In my own defense, I feel I merit the following headline: "This Dog Will Make an Excellent Family Pet." After all,  I love people, kids included, and am great with other animals (both dogs and cats), so I should fit in most anywhere. In addition, I am a healthy girl who has been spayed, microchipped, is current on all shots and has tested negative for heartworm. I will be professionally groomed before adoption and will be sporting a new leash and collar at the time of going home. If you would like to adopt me, please email or visit , where you can complete and return an on-line application. I am not only newsworthy, but can be trained to drop the morning paper at your feet (a few toothmarks aside, I will deliver all the news that's fit to print in very good shape).

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Sybil, a Flushing Beagle dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Beagle for sale in Flushing, or seeking a Beagle dog from a breeder in Flushing.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Flushing already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Flushing breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Beagle breeders who help with Beagle rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Flushing paves the way for another one to be saved.
