My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hello, my name is Sybil. I am a purebred female Beagle just 5 years old. I was recently surrendered to Animal Care and Control of NYC by a family who no longer wanted me. Of course this turn of events was not my fault. I am a great dog with a great temperament and would swear before Congress that I did nothing wrong. Sadly, I was simply deemed disposable, like some kind of old news. In my own defense, I feel I merit the following headline: "This Dog Will Make an Excellent Family Pet." After all,  I love people, kids included, and am great with other animals (both dogs and cats), so I should fit in most anywhere. In addition, I am a healthy girl who has been spayed, microchipped, is current on all shots and has tested negative for heartworm. I will be professionally groomed before adoption and will be sporting a new leash and collar at the time of going home. If you would like to adopt me, please email rescue@nyabandonedangels.com or visit http://www.nyabandonedangels.com/ , where you can complete and return an on-line application. I am not only newsworthy, but can be trained to drop the morning paper at your feet (a few toothmarks aside, I will deliver all the news that's fit to print in very good shape).
