Pongo's Story...
Pongo is one of the 13 cats we recently pulled from the Kewanee, IL Humane Society to help them out as they are over-populated. All 13 cats are very friendly towards people and other cats. Pongo is no exception. DOB 4-9-08.
POSTED MARCH 4, 2015.
Pongo continues to be a sweet friendly girl with a beautiful soft coat.
UPDATED APRIL 22, 2015.
Adopted from Petsmart May 11, 2015
Sadly Pongo was returned. The child in her new home developed severe allergies. They left a message for the future adopter - "You can tell people that Pongo loves to snuggle up and is a real cuddler. She is friendly to adults and kids and even the puppy that we adopted later. She doesn't like to be picked up though. We just let her come to us. She enjoys sleeping on the couch or with my daughter. She also loves to play with a laser pen and toy mice.".

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Pongo, a Geneseo Domestic Shorthair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Geneseo, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair cat from a breeder in Geneseo.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Geneseo already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Geneseo breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Geneseo paves the way for another one to be saved.
