A Little Bit About Me

Orion is looking for a home with people who will appreciate his smokey beauty as well as his distinctive personality. He has lived safe and sound indoors all his life, so we are looking for another indoor home with older, cat savvy children.

Orion enjoys being groomed and petted and greatly enjoys hanging out in laps. His former owner reported that he did get overstimulated when being petted, but we haven't seen any of that behavior here at the shelter. This guy is a sweety who needs a second chance. He is initially shy, but warms up to be a great guy with lots of love to share.

About North Bay Canine Rescue & Placement

About Our Rescue Group...

We are a group of people dedicated to rescuing dogs from crisis situations, some of which include euthanasia by animal shelters, neglect and other forms of abuse, or "free to a good home" ads, which result in dogs being bounced from one home to another, or being acquired by animal brokers ("bunchers") and sold to research laboratories where they are used for testing then discarded ("cruelty industries").

NBCR&P works primarily with 5 herding breeds, and herding breed mixes. On occasion, NBCR&P also rescues and places other breeds. We foster our dogs in a home environment, rather than a kennel, if at all possible. We take pride in our promise that at any time and for any reason in the dog's life, if the need arises, he or she has a safe place with us ("return to rescue" policy).
