Ben's Story...
Hi! I’m Ben (A001487) and I’m wonderful. I know I look bad - I don’t want to be like this, trust me. I’ve been evaluated by the shelter veterinarian and I do not have mange. I came into the shelter covered in fleas so it’s possible that I have a flea allergy. The good news is my hair is growing back in and I’m on the mend. I know basic commands and I’m really sweet. I like treats and I walk well on a leash. I really like to play with tennis balls too! I’m a neutered male, black and tan, German Shepherd and Rottweiler mix. I was found as a stray on Helena Ave. on 2-10-15. You can adopt me today! *Please do not call the shelter if you are interested in adopting. You must come into the shelter to meet the cat/dog.

PLEASE NOTE: NOT ALL ANIMALS ARE ON THE WEBSITE. IF YOU ARE MISSING YOUR PET, PLEASE COME THE SHELTER TO SEE IF YOUR PET IS HERE.

Adoption costs:
Cat/kitten: $90, second cat/kitten for $1. There may be an additional $50 refundable spay/neuter fee for kittens too young to be spayed/neutered at time of adoption.
Dog: $120 plus dog license fee

Adoption fees include vaccinations, spay/neuter, heartworm check (for dogs), feline leukemia check (for cats), rabies vaccination, and deworming. Pets have also been treated for fleas and ticks. Some pets may have had other veterinary treatment as needed.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Ben, a Jackson Rottweiler/German Shepherd Dog dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Rottweiler/German Shepherd Dog for sale in Jackson, or seeking a Rottweiler/German Shepherd Dog dog from a breeder in Jackson.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Jackson already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Jackson breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Rottweiler/German Shepherd Dog breeders who help with Rottweiler/German Shepherd Dog rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Jackson paves the way for another one to be saved.
