Scout was recently graduated from the DAWGS in prison program. The DAWGS in prison program is an 8-week intensive training program in a work camp setting. Each dog has a handler, caretaker and trainer. All are inmates who are well trained themselves and dedicated to their dogs' success. Graduates of the program are crate trained, housetrained, walk well on a leash, and know many commands like sit, stay, come, and down. Dogs are temperament tested prior to admission and must get along well with other dogs and humans. To adopt, please fill out an adoption application.Applications for this dog are available online at www.dawgsinprison.com . Why Adoption is a Great Option

SCOUT-DAWGS, a Port St. Joe Labrador Retriever dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Labrador Retriever for sale in Port St. Joe, or seeking a Labrador Retriever dog from a breeder in Port St. Joe.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Port St. Joe already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Port St. Joe breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Labrador Retriever breeders who help with Labrador Retriever rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Port St. Joe paves the way for another one to be saved.
