Jerry Lee's Story...
Hi my name is Jerry Lee. I was born at the shelter when my Mom Myra a Coillie/Lab mix was rescued and brought here for care. I have 8 brothers and sisters that live here too. We have a lot of fun playing together and giving our Mom a hard time. The Staff here is very nice to us but we would like a real home of our own. It would be nice to have our own toys and beds. We would like a yard to play in where we would be safe. I am a very sweet puppy and promise to love you furrever if you can give me a home. If you are unable to adopt at this time, perhaps you could foster or make a Donation. All pets adopted from SJBHS will be current on vaccinations and spayed/neutered. Please do not hesitate to email or or call the St. Joseph Bay Humane Society at 850-227-1103 and ask for Melody or Debbie! Applications are available at and can be emailed to our office or faxed 850-227-1191. We require all potential adopters to complete an application form. Adoption fees include our cost of spay/neuter and current vaccinations. In some cases donations may be requested to offset cost of pets requiring any additional medical care.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Jerry Lee, a Port St. Joe Labrador Retriever puppy was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Labrador Retriever for sale in Port St. Joe, or seeking a Labrador Retriever puppy from a breeder in Port St. Joe.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Port St. Joe already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Port St. Joe breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Labrador Retriever breeders who help with Labrador Retriever rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Port St. Joe paves the way for another one to be saved.
