Dixie's Story...
Hi! My name is Dixie and I am a Catahoula Bulldog- a hybrid breed cross of Catahoula Leopard Dog and American Bulldog. I am still a very young lady, only around 11 months old. I LOVE my people and also enjoy playing with other 4-legged friends- just make sure you introduce us first…..you know, we all have those certain “someones” we don’t quite get along with. I live to please my owner and am very eager to learn. I am pretty energetic but also enjoy my quiet time. I love humans of any size and age and would love to be your new “very best friend”! All pets at St. Joseph Bay Humane Society are current on vaccinations and will be spayed/neutered upon adoption. For more information on Dixie, please contact SJBHS at 850-227-1103 or Melody at 850-247-9476 . Applications are available online at www.SJBHumaneSociety.org . Completed application can be faxed to 850-227-1191.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Dixie, a Port St. Joe Catahoula Leopard Dog/American Bulldog dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Catahoula Leopard Dog/American Bulldog for sale in Port St. Joe, or seeking a Catahoula Leopard Dog/American Bulldog dog from a breeder in Port St. Joe.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Port St. Joe already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Port St. Joe breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Catahoula Leopard Dog/American Bulldog breeders who help with Catahoula Leopard Dog/American Bulldog rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Port St. Joe paves the way for another one to be saved.
