Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Meet Sierra! She is a petite 6 year old golden that has spent her life confined as a breeder dog from Kansas. She hasn't had the easiest time in life so far. When she first came to us she was fearful of everything, any little noise or movement. She would run and cower in the corner. She loves her dog bed next to her foster moms bed. It is her safe place. Day by day she is slowly learning that there are people that will be nice to her. She is still very scared but learning. It is very rewarding to see the look in her eyes that she is being loved for the very first time.
She has never chewed on anything, rarely ever barks (unless she is letting you know she needs to go out) and is potty trained. She loves being around other dogs.
Sierra is such a sweet little girl and it is truly remarkable watching her transition from a skittish scared little girl to a trusting flourishing member of the family. She will need to go to a home with another dog that can help her learn how to be a dog. She will need to go to a quiet home with someone who is patient and will be willing to open their heart and take time to spend with her so she can learn how to trust again. She just wants to be by your side all the time and be loved.
She will need another dog in her forever home.
Sierra has been diagnosed with a grade 3 heart murmur. GRFR has had many dogs over the years with various stages of heart murmurs and they've all done great. It does mean that your vet will need to be advised and caution taken if/when she has to undergo anesthesia.
