Harley's Story...
Please meet Harley. This big boy was at Memphis Animal Services and sadly was on the euthanasia list because he had heart worms and suffered from black dog syndrome. (Yes, it's a real thing...google it.) Harley is undergoing treatment for his heartworms and is doing great....he is a sweet dog, goofy and sweet. Truth be told, he's our dog we take along when we aren't completely sure if another dog is ok with dogs. He always is happy to meet, greet. He's the first to play bow and wag a tail....this dog is bomb proof when it comes to other dogs. Would have been such a shame if he hadn't made it out of the shelter. We are thrilled to have him in rescue.

Harley will be complete his heartworm treatment mid-April and will be available to travel to his forever home at that point. We are accepting applications for this sweet boy now. His adoption fee is $500 and includes his microchip, heart worm treatment, neuter surgery, vaccinations, health certificate and transportation from Memphis to your area.

Please let us know if you are interested in this sweet dog. And please remember to keep your pets on heart worm preventative.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Harley, a Hagerstown German Shepherd Dog dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a German Shepherd Dog for sale in Hagerstown, or seeking a German Shepherd Dog dog from a breeder in Hagerstown.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Hagerstown already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Hagerstown breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even German Shepherd Dog breeders who help with German Shepherd Dog rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Hagerstown paves the way for another one to be saved.
