Everyone please meet Mariah!

Mariah is a DNA confirmed female blue and gold macaw. She has been thru quarantine and has clean bloodwork, so she is ready to meet her new family and go home!!

Mariah is a generally friendly girl, but she is very headstrong and will try to bully people. An experienced bird home would be best for her, just so she does not walk all over and push her new family around. She is extremely intelligent, can be vocal when she wants attention or you need to refill her food bowl! She is not a chronic plucker, in a home with lots of attention, regular bathing and plenty of toys and challenges to keep this pretty girl engaged, she should return to full feathered glory!

Please note the shelter does not place large macaws in homes with very young children.


The Adoption Process:Fill out our online adoption application which can be found on our website, www.ahelpingwing.org (no phone calls please). A representative from A Helping Wing will be in touch to answer all questions and discuss setting up a first visit. Multiple visits are required before adoption. Although there is no application fee, there is an adoption fee, which covers food, medical care, etc., and allows us to continue our efforts in rescuing, caring for, and finding homes for all of our birds. All birds at AHW have been vetted and have negative tests for any disease before they are made available for adoption!
