My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi, my name is Daisy! I am currently being fostered in Champaign, Illinois. I am a petite pit bull/terrier mix. I currently tip the scales at 40 pounds, I have put on a pound or two recently so you know longer can see my hip bones. I’ve had a pretty rough start in life. My foster parents rescued me from the Hoopeston Animal Shelter. The kind lady at the shelter said I was shy, lacked self-confidence, and that I didn’t eat much…………well all that has changed! In my foster home I have come completely out of my shell thanks to the help of my big foster brother! I am very loving, affectionate, and full of kisses. I love to curl up next to you on even better on your lap. I am very food motivated, the crunchier the treat the better!

I am only 8-9 months old but I am pretty smart. I know my name, I am working on sit, I walk nicely on a leash, and I can entertain myself for hours with a good chew toy. I am crate trained; I like my crate nice and clean. I am almost house-broken; sometimes I make mistakes but not often. Speaking of crates, I immediately go into the crate once you open the door. Sometimes I just need a quick nap because I prefer to play all day!

I am not very vocal unless somebody rings the doorbell, I’ll let you know right away that somebody is coming to see us. I make little grunting sounds when I am following my nose outside. Sometimes I gently snore but it’s cute like me, I promise!

I should probably have a fenced in yard because I tend to go wherever my nose takes me. I am very curious about birds, squirrels, and rabbits. I don’t chase them but boy o boy would I like too!

I get along well with my four legged foster brother. I have met a couple of little kids, and I seemed ok with them. I am trying hard to remember that four paws on the floor is polite. I don’t pay too much attention to other dogs when I am out and about for a walk. I am probably ok with a kitty but never really met one.

So that’s all about me! Please come visit me!!
