My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

**Kobe is currently in a foster home in Houston, Texas and is available for local or out of state adoption. His total out of state adoption fee is $450, which will help cover the costs of his airline flight, travel crate and comfy travel bed. Out of state applicants can meet Kobe via video chat with an approved adoption application.**

Meet our fun-loving, smiling Labrador, Kobe. If you have an idea of the “typical Lab” in your head…Kobe fits that perfectly. He’s silly, smart and loves to play. Kobe has had a bit of rough luck from the time he was a tiny baby in terms of being part of a family. He was adopted from the city shelter at 10 weeks old, then given to a family member, who then gave him to one of their friends, whom then gave him to one of our friends to give to us (at least that is the story that we've gotten). All of this shuffling was no fault of his own, but really just circumstances, like a big puppy in an apartment, owners having long working hours and not enough space for a growing, happy puppy. Although he hasn’t known the true and constant love of a real family yet, it certainly hasn’t changed his big heart. The cycle ends with us for this dear boy!!! We have promised this young man that he will find his FOREVER family once and for all.

Kobe is super sweet, very smart, well-mannered and affectionate. He LOVES to play fetch and brings it back more often than not. He's about 10 months old now and so he is still a puppy. Labs don't tend to grow out of their puppy antics for about 2 years or more. He is young, goofy, loves to run, play in the water and even mud puddles, if available. He's puppy clumsy still at times, which leads to many entertaining activities with him. He is a solid 50 pounds at this point and we feel that he’s just about finished growing into his paws.

Kobe LOVES to play with his dog buddies. He can go out in the play yard with anybody and have a good time. He’s a bigger guy and can play for a pretty substantial amount of time, so having buddies with a similar size, energy level and stamina would be really nice for him long term. He would very much enjoy visiting the dog park, being somebody’s running partner and going on long hikes. He loves people equally as well and has never met a stranger. He just wants to be loved and have some stability in his life. He’s not been given a great deal of training during all of the transition in his short life. We’ve been working with him for the 3 weeks that he’s been in our care, but he will need a committed new family to encourage his progress on leash walking and basic commands. He loves a yummy snack, so using treats to learn new skills is easy motivation.

This pup is a real sweetheart and is quite the catch. We are so excited to have the honor of finding his forever family. Kobe is neutered, microchipped, fully vaccinated and ready to roll out of here. He is available for adoption locally (Houston, Texas) and also out of state. His out of state adoption fee is $450 to help cover the cost of his airline flight, travel kennel and comfy travel bed. His crate and bed are his to keep upon his arrival with his new family. If you see this very loving boy in your life or have additional questions about him, please do not hesitate to email us at adoptions@reggiesfriends.org.
