Adorable little Gucci certainly lives up to her name. She is such a precious girl! Gucci is very timid so needs a calm, gentle, loving person to help her blossom and feel safe. She likes men and women equally, but is afraid to come to you when called. It takes a lot of patience to gain her trust! However, her huge eyes light up when you say Gucci-Gucci-Gucci and her little tail wags a mile a minute! She will then wait for you come pick her up. Once she is in your arms, she is happy to stay there indefinitely! She gets along with other small dogs as long as they don’t want her to play with them.

Gucci was born January 25, 2004 and she weighs just 7 pounds. She needs a quiet home with no children or large dogs. She would enjoy a very securely fenced yard because she loves to explore and sun herself. She is crate trained, leash trained and house trained to puppy pads. She will also go outside if it isn’t too cold or wet. She is a very picky eater and will turn her nose up at plain dry kibble. She eats small amounts of high quality canned food, mixed with kibble 3-4 times a day so needs someone who works from home or is retired. A bit of plain scrambled egg, cheese or fresh cooked chicken on top entices her to clean her bowl!

Gucci is spayed, micro chipped, up to date on all vaccinations, heartworm negative, and on preventative. She is being fostered about 40 miles southwest of Chicago IL and only applications within driving distance will be considered.

We never place our dogs in homes with invisible (electric) fencing & we never ship our dogs in cargo or transport them to adoptive homes. Doggy doors are OK as long as they are secured at night and when you are gone. Gucci is small enough to be carried away by a hawk, owl, coyote or other predator so should never be outside alone.

About American Brussels Griffon Rescue Alliance, Inc

About Our Rescue Group...

ABGRA (American Brussels Griffon Rescue Alliance) & AAR (American Affenpinscher Rescue) is a non-profit national rescue group founded to rescue, rehabilitate and re-home Brussels Griffons and Affenpinschers. We strive to leave no Griff or Affen behind and rescue these breeds from commercial breeding facilities and city/county shelters when foster home space is available. We also accept owner surrendered Griffs and Affens. We are an all foster home based rescue that provides complete vetting for our dogs prior to adoption.

American Brussels Griffon Rescue Alliance Inc. (ABGRA) and American Affenpinscher Rescue (AAR) came into being to meet the needs of the Brussels Griffons and Affenpinschers who are abandoned, might be abandoned, or whose circumstances we can improve.
We are especially mindful of the Griffs and Affens that have spent their lives in commercial breeding facilities and who will have a chance at a better life through our efforts. We also rescue both breeds from animal shelters and accept owner surrendered Griffs and Affens.
ABGRA, & our subsidiary AAR, is a non-profit national rescue group.

Come Meet Our Pets...

All adoptions go through our website-
We do not have a kennel facility and place all of our Griffons and Affens by application. All of our rescued dogs are living in foster homes where public viewing is not possible.

Our Adoption Process...

Our adoption donations are from $200 - $350 and reflect the vetting costs incured for each dog as well as some dogs whose costs far exceed the donation.
We interview all references provided and require a home visit before placements. An adoption contract is required. If the dog is returned within 30 days, a refund will be issued. ABGRA requires adopters be 25 years old, or older, and are looking for stable permanent adoptors. In most cases, these breeds are not recommened for families with young children or for people who are not home for long periods of time. They are the perfect pet for someone who can take their dog to work with them, work from home, or are retired.
