My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Experienced dog owner only!
Great dog, but he can show moments of aggressive, especially if approached too fast.
Approximately 8 years old and appears to have low hearing due to age.
No kids

My owner has become unexpectedly disabled requiring major surgery and probably won’t recover enough to take me back home.

Rio is overweight, which causes trouble doing stairs he does like to be outside so it should be easy to get him down to a healthy size. He is great on a leash (no pulling) and he loves to be pet and pampered.

Prospective Adopter, please complete an adoption application available on our website nbanimalrescue.org and email it to adopt@nbanimalrescue.org. Upon receipt, an Adoption Specialist will contact you to schedule an appointment. We are a volunteer organization, so an appointment to visit the rescue is a necessity.
