Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Sissy/Lucy is a young energetic female who is 2&1/2 years old. She weighs about 25 lbs. Sissy was let down by her family who turned her over to HBHR. Her crime? -being a beagle. Sissy was very unfortunate and belonged to a family that neither understood nor appreciated beagles.
Sissy was the new name that was given her but her old name is what she responds to so, Lucy is who she has remained!
Lucy is a delightful young beagle who is full of energy and love. She loves playing and wrestling with her foster brother and is respectful of the elderly beagle in the home. She absolutely loves a good game of chase and will fly around the back yard with her foster brother. She has also discovered the joy of chasing a laser light and will try her best to catch the light.
Lucy is house trained and has had no accidents. She learned to use a doggie door in seconds and loves to be able to come and go as she chooses. Lucy likes to sleep in bed with her foster parents. She snuggles close and does not move all night.
Lucy is all beagle and loves to use her beagle nose. She loves to spend time tracking the back yard and keeping it free of intruders. Lucy loves to go on walks and gets very excited when the harnesses and leashes come out. She can be quite vocal when she is on a trail of a cat or other critter. She has a cute bay and is not shy about using it. She would not do well in an apartment. Lucy also loves to go to the doggie park. At the park, she will run until she is tired, and the smell her way around the park looking for squirrels to bay at.
Lucy is crate trained, but does not like to be crated. As long as there are no temptations -food-left in her reach she does fine when not crated. She has not chewed on anything (with the exception of a tub of vanilla wafers her foster parents left in her reach) that was not hers. Lucy loves cuddle time with her foster family. She loves to have a lap to curl up in when it is TV watching time. She will cuddle awhile with her foster mom, and then will go cuddle with her foster dad.
Lucy is looking for a home that understands and loves beagle behaviors. She wants a forever family that will not abandon her for simply being what she is, a beagle. She would love an active family with dogs she could play with. Lucy is a very sweet and loving beagle who keeps her foster parents entertained. She would make a great addition to any family.
