My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Claire was rescued as a new born in December 2014 from a high kill shelter. Her family surrendered the entire litter when they could not afford to keep the mama dog and pups. Claire has had the best care at CARE, Inc including plenty of love from volunteers, plus she comes from a laid-back mama dog who passed on those good solid genes. Mom appears to be a dalmatian/terrier/American bulldog mix. Daddy was a shepherd/husky mix. Both have winning personalities and are beloved family pets.

July 30, 2015 By Volunteer Gwen. Claire is having a spa day at my house to give her a break from the kennel and have a bath. Her spa day is also for me to take photos and get to know her so I can write an accurate blurb that will connect with just the right family for her. She bounded right out of the car and into my fenced yard as if she knew me. She eagerly greeted my own dogs and my husband. Even though she has never been indoors, she galloped right across my threshold and started exploring my house. She loved her bath and stood quietly even through the rinse, which most dogs don't like. She clearly reveled in being free to romping in the grass but she ran to me every time I called and sometimes just for the joy of having me notice her. When I had to sit down to work she planted herself at my feet and has been there all morning. She is as bold, eager and happy as a dog that has been in a home instead of a kennel all her life. If I could adopt a dog I would surely keep her.

I posted an album of her spa day on my public Facebook site. https://www.facebook.com/gwen.c.roland/media_set?set=a.1021523687872552.1073741865.100000447912044&type=3

If for some reason you can't see it, just email gwenroland@gmail.com and I will send you more photos than the four that can be put on Adoptapet. Thank you for considering this sweet, eager dog.
