My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi! I'm Pugsley. Originally my foster mom called me Grantham, because she thought I would be lordly like the guy on Downton Abbey, but she says Pugsley fits me better because I am extremely silly. I LOVE toys -- stuffies and kongs especially, or pull toys. I will also make a toy out of things that I find, like plastic containers or cardboard boxes, and toss them in the air to chase them when they land. I'm a fun-loving sort.

I weigh just 41 pounds, a real nice medium size. I am about a year old. My adult teeth are in, but they are brand-spanking new and pearly white.

I love to go on walkies, and I walk nicely on the leash until I see something I am interested in, or someone (person or dog) that I want to meet. Then I will pull to go over there (but not too hard).

I am a very good boy, about 1 year old. I sit nicely for my dinner and for a treat, and I am housetrained. I will sleep in a crate too.

I love other dogs, and would be happiest in a home with another dog that I can play with and run around with. I also like to sit next to you on the couch while you watch movies. Comedies are my favorite.

I am up to date on my shots (need one booster early April), neutered, heartworm negative, and microchipped. I would really love to find my forever family soon so I can settle in and give all the love that is in my heart. And really, who can resist my EARS?

You may have noticed that I'm not a dachshund, but I'm with a dachshund rescue group. That's because the lady that found me volunteers with the dachshund people. I'm surrounded by short-leggers, and I love all of them, even two of them don't love me. (I'm a bit of a goof.)

If you want to adopt me, please write to my foster mom and complete the adoption application dreamhappytails.org/adoptform.shtml. Pugsley Grantham 's adoption fee is $250. All adoption fees go directly to veterinary care for DREAM dachshunds. Pugsley Grantham will go to his/her new home microchipped, altered, heartworm tested, and up to date on vaccinations. Most dogs' veterinary expenses are greater than our adoption fees.

DREAM is an all-volunteer rescue group, and we focus on the Atlanta, North Georgia and Savannah area. Because we are all volunteers, we can consider applications only within an hour of these areas.
