Facts about Butler

  • Breed: American Bulldog Mix
  • Color: Brindle
  • Age: Adult
  • Size: Med. 26-60 lbs (12-27 kg)
  • Sex: Male
Butler is a sweet 5-year-old American Bulldog mix.
He was adopted at 5 months old and when his human Mother became pregnant she decided she could no longer keep Butler and his Huskey Brother.
Butler was returned when he was 4 years old.

When he came back he was, of course, confused and frightened. For weeks when walked would stand in front of the car door. I'm certain he wanted to go home. He realized he was here to stay and no longer stood by the car door.

We quickly realized his previous owners didn't do much in terms of training. He "was" horrible on a leash and needed work on some manners, he's good now.
What he lacked was a direction. I feel they may have been hard on him. His muzzle is full of gray hair. We keep in touch with the rest of his litter and he looks much older than the rest. She may have had a short and quick temper and I suspect he got yelled at a lot.
He coward some, not so much anymore.

Butler is good with non-dominant male or female dogs.
He's athletically playful especially in the beginning of a new canine friendship.
We always recommend slow and proper introduction when meeting new dogs.

Butler will thrive in a home with experienced dog parents and that understand dog behavior. He is eager to please and takes direction well. He just needs direction.

No kids for Butler, we feel he doesn't understand their movements, their erratic quick movements at times confuse him.

Almost forgot, he's great at catching cookies and treats.
