My name is Christy. My mom and I were dumped at a park off Kingshighway. We found our way across the street to a feral colony feeder and took up residence in the nearby backyard of a guy with a big dog. The dog and the man went out of town for 2 weeks, so we thought we were safe there since we had a food source with the feeder nearby. Needless to say, we were caught off guard when the man and his dog returned home. The dog went after us and got my sister pretty good (but she recovered). This was the only place we knew to hang out, so despite the danger, we didn't leave the yard. The feral colony feeder called a nice lady who contacted Stray Haven and they took me and my mom in. My mom got adopted, but I've been waiting for my forever home for over two years.

I am approximately 3 years old (as of fall 2016). I am a very playful girl who gets along great with other cats and should be just fine with kids or a cat-friendly dog - but not like the one in that backyard! I have an ear tip, but I am not the slightest bit feral! That was a mistake on the vet's part. Please don't hold it against me!

Even though I entered foster care as an older kitten and grew up around people, I'm very independent. It's weird - in my foster home, I'm not that keen on being petted (it's like I'm afraid or something), but when I was in a cage at Petsmart, I could not get enough loving each time someone reached in to pet me - I purred and nuzzled and was very sweet. Maybe I just need more one-on-one attention and a chance to bond with someone. Or maybe I really do need a patient owner who will love me, but give me my own space to lounge and play. I'd sure appreciate it if you'd take a chance on me! Stray Haven has a foster-to-adopt program so we can try each other out!
