This beautiful little lady is Lex, a one year old shepherd mix that came to us from our Newark facility in search of her special someone. Lex was a stray, so we don't know her history, but something in her past has caused her to be painfully shy. It takes Lex some time to get used to you. When she does, you will notice her quietly come over and nibble on your shoe, or gently approach a toy and play with in a corner, like no one can see her. When she gets to know you even better, she really comes out of her shell and will run after a ball, enjoy a walk, and come to you for some attention. Lex is like a different dog when she meets another dog, and she would definitely benefit from going into a home with another friendly pup. She is so loving, gentle, and well behaved and wants nothing more than to be treated with kindness and respect.
