My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Warning!!!! Cuteness alert!!!! Meet sweet Dolce… She is a 4 year old Pit Bull mix. What is she mixed with? We aren’t really sure, maybe Bulldog or Boston Terrier? She’s about 40 pounds. She will need to gain another 5 to 10 pounds because she is very skinny. She’s a compact little girl. Like her name says, she’s as sweet as they come!

Dolce has not seen the best of life so far. Poor Dolce was abandoned; found tied to a tree across from a dog park. We do not understand how anyone could abandon this little girl. We can only imagine that she was not considered “family” wherever she came from. Dolce was clearly used as a breeding dog. Her body shows signs of having many litters. She was not taken care of very well. Her coat and teeth show signs of poor nutrition. Despite all of this, Dolce holds no grudges… She greets men, women, and children with lots of wiggles and wags. Her little face lights up when the 8 year old human in her foster family walks into the room. She just can’t seem to cover him with enough of her sloppy kisses! She adores her foster family. She follows her foster mom everywhere she goes. Dolce gets along well with the other dogs in her foster home. She is a typical “mama” dog. She likes the other dogs to stay calm. If they are not, she will appropriately correct them.

Dolce is a smart girl. She knows her basic commands like sit, down, and come. It only took a few days for Dolce to get used to the routines in her foster home. She doesn’t mind spending time in her crate while her foster mom and dad are at work. She walks nicely on leash. She enjoys going for walks and playing with the dogs toys. Dolce definitely needs to get her energy out! A brisk walk and playing fetch will do the trick. Once she gets her energy out, she likes to snuggle next to her humans. Dolce loves getting treats! She takes them gently. Dolce’s favorite thing to do is to cuddle close to her foster family on the couch and at bed time. Dolce is ready to begin the next chapter of her life. She doesn’t need much…. Just some yummy food to fill her belly, a warm bed to rest her head, and gentle hands to show her love.

If you think that you would like to give Dolce the love and stability that she deserves, please fill out an application and come meet Dolce at our next adoption day event.

Dolce is spayed, housetrained, up to date with her shots and microchipped.
