My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

RITA is a Husky/Australian Shepherd mix rescued from starvation in a remote rural area when her people moved and abandoned her. She has a thick wavy, medium-length coat and weighs about 45 lb. We estimate her date of birth to be July 2011. She is now spayed, fully-vaccinated and healthy. She is current on monthly flea, tick and heartworm preventives. Rita lives well with other non-aggressive dogs, but she could be happy as an only dog because she could get more attention. The most important thing to her is being with her human. She loves sitting with you by the fire, in the bed, or as you quietly read a book. She does well with the household cats. Rita is crate-trained for nighttime sleeping and house-trained. She is friendly, affectionate, playful, quite athletic and highly intelligent. She romps like a puppy, loves toys, but is not at all destructive. Rita will need a yard with a good, high fence because she can jump a standard 5 ft. fence if she so chooses. She loves to run. Although probably a bit too intense for toddlers, Rita would do well with older children. This is a courtesy posting. This dog is not affiliated with P.S. I Love You! Animal Rescue but is fostered by another party. For more information, please contact Janel Miller at dogrefuge@gmail.com.
