Hello there. My name is Markie... Markie Malarkey! I'm about 5 months old and I weigh about 30 lbs.
I was found as a stray in the Salem area and I was picked up by the pound.
I was a very nervous little fellow at first. I guess after being dumped out on that country road by my previous owners, I wasn't quick to trust new people very easily. Of course like many others I could talk the talk but I sure couldn't walk the walk. I tried to make myself appear big and mean but everyone saw right through that... that is how I earned my name! It was all a big bunch of malarkey.
Now that I am here and I have settled in, I have learned that I can trust the people. I have really turned out to be a really sweet, nice little guy.
I love going for walks and if course I enjoy some cuddle time on the couch.
I am social and friendly with the other dogs here at the pound.
As with any puppy the pound does suggest that I go to a loving family with lots of patience and time to train me... puppies can be a lot of work, but with proper socialization and training, we are loyal, loving best friends for as long as we live.

HERE AT THE COLUMBIANA COUNTY DOG POUND, WE TRY VERY HARD TO PLACE ALL OF OUR ADOPTABLE DOGS IN TO LOVING HOMES OR SEND THEM TO GREAT, APPROVED RESCUE GROUPS, HOWEVER, WE CAN ONLY KEEP OUR DOGS HERE AT THE POUND AS LONG AS SPACE ALLOWS.
MY ADOPTION FEE IS $110 CASH, WHICH COVERS MY NEUTER SURGERY (WHICH MUST BE DONE PRIOR TO ME LEAVING THE SHELTER), MY PARVO/DISTEMPER VACCINE, RABIES VACCINE, DEWORMING AND MY CURRENT OHIO DOG LICENSE WHICH WILL BE HONORED THROUGHOUT THE STATE OF OHIO.
