My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

This petite little girl is Maya, a 1 year old Amstaff mix that we rescued last year. At just 3 months old, Maya was seized in a dog fighting raid along with 37 other dogs at a Nashville home. She later was in need of rescue and that's when she became part of our TDRD family.

Maya had some socialization and confidence issues, but months in training has really helped her to grow. It's taken time for Maya to learn that not everyone in this world is cruel. She is a small seal colored beauty, weighing just 30 pounds and has an adorable underbite. She is shy and cautious of new people, but she warms up quickly, especially if you have treats! She has learned how to coexist with other dogs and even play, without feeling like they are going to attack her. Maya has finally learned to let go of the anxiety and fear that she has held on to for so long. She has also learned all of her basic commands, how to walk on a leash and of course, how to love! What she would like most now is to become a cherished member of her very own family!
