My name is Zuri!

Chihuahua Dog for adoption in Carrollton, Georgia - Zuri

I found a new home!
Plenty of my friends are looking
for one too. Find a pet to adopt.

Zuri's Info...

I am already spayed, purebred, in need of an experienced adopter, up to date with shots, and not good with kids.

Zuri's Story...
Zuri is a female, five pound, tri colored, approximately 18 month old Chihuahua. She came to a local kill shelter as a stray and no one returned to reclaim her.
Zuri is pretty typical for a Chihuahua......she takes a lot of time to warm up to strangers and anytime she is feeling threatened she tends to consider fear biting as an option for coping.
She was terrified in the shelter environment and a kind staff member contacted Hickory Level Hound Rescue to step in a save her.
She went immediately to the rescue vet for care, and was spayed. She had picked up a pretty bad case of upper respiratory infection while at the shelter and is still on medications in her foster home. She will not require medication for very much longer.
She lives with cats, and other dogs. She does ok, but we feel that she would be best in a home with no other dogs or with a dog that will allow her to be the boss.
She LOVES toys and will guard them, more from other dogs than from people. The squeaky kind are her favorite. She will also guard food from other dogs.
We do NOT recommend Zuri to homes with children under twelve years old.
If you have specific questions about Zuri, please contact Misty at Otisbee33@att.net.
The first step in our adoption process is to fill out an adoption application, which can also be requested at the above e mail address.
HLHR does not ship dogs, nor are adoption fees negotiable. Serious inquiries only please.
Zuri's $200 adoption fee covers complete vet care.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Zuri, a Carrollton Chihuahua dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Chihuahua for sale in Carrollton, or seeking a Chihuahua dog from a breeder in Carrollton.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Carrollton already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Carrollton breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Chihuahua breeders who help with Chihuahua rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Carrollton paves the way for another one to be saved.
