My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

THE “SCOUT”ING REPORT
Scout here, reporting from the world of Beagles. I am scouting for a forever home, preferably a home with a pitcher. If you’ll be the pitcher, I’ll be the fetcher! You’d need a good arm to throw my tennis ball for hours on end. Accuracy is not necessary, but a stock of squeaky balls are a plus. Must be flexible for either indoor or outdoor play. Providing a few pets and ear scratches, a warm bed to sleep in, and good food and treats also required.
My qualifications? Well, I’m an 8 year old Beagle girl, but don’t let that fool you! I have energy to spare. I love to run, and I especially love to chase a squeaky ball. I am really good at bringing it back to you and dropping it at your feet or in your lap. I am completely house trained, and although I’ll stay in a crate if you need me too, I earned run of the house at my foster home after just a week. When 11 PM rolls around, foster Mom says “Scout! Time for Bed!”, and I trot right upstairs to my doggie bed and lay down! I can sit, and shake, and stay, and I know what go for a walk, car ride, dog park, no, come, breakfast, dinner, and treat mean! I am one smart athlete!
I must have come from a house where I was the sole athlete, I mean, dog, because I am not quite as well socialized as foster mom would like to see. Although I’m great with people, I’ve always worked solo, so I can get pretty possessive of my squeaky toys, and sometimes growl when I meet other dogs or snap at them when they get too close to my ball. But even seasoned athletes can learn, and I’m starting to learn that not every dog is a threat to my fetching career. Foster mom says that while I’m still in training, a home with small kids or with dogs who are crazy about toys like me would not be a good fit. I do get along well with my foster Beagle sister for the most part, and we can share mealtimes, the couch, a long walk, or a patch of sunlight really well. It’s just with toys, especially squeaky balls that I get a little possessive.
I am a smaller Beagle, very fit and trim, and my tail wags so fast sometimes you can’t see it move! I am pretty quiet, but have a surprisingly deep bay for such a little girl when I do get excited. I do great on the leash, and great in the car, and in the evenings after a great ball game, I love to snuggle up beside you. If you are looking for a superstar fetcher, contact Midwest BREW for more information on me. I’ll be happy to test your pitching arm!
