My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hello, beagle people! My name is Tilda the Mighty! The big people call me Tilda for short. I have a mighty spirit, a mighty heart, and, like any good beagle, a mighty appetite.

I had a rough start in life, without a family or a home or the soft couch where I take my best snoozes. But then Midwest BREW found me and I’ve been loving life ever since! When I was given a home with Mom, Dad, and my new beagle sister, it took me a couple weeks to get used to my new life, but they gave me lots to do and I had fun learning. I graduated from beginner obedience school. I’d love to show you how I can sit, stay, come, and “leave it!”, and maybe even learn more!

I love to be with other dogs, and I always let them take the lead. It’d be great if I had some dog siblings to run and play with me, but I don’t mind lounging around with my lazy beagle sister either. (I know the people laugh at us when we are snoring together!) I prefer my dog siblings to strangers; if I don’t know someone well I’ll keep my distance until they let me get used to them. I was also timid with Mom and Dad at first, but I learned that I could trust them pretty quickly! If there is a loud noise or a sudden movement, I’ll get a little scared–I move quick!—but it’s just my way of figuring out this big world!

I sleep in my crate during the day when the people are at work. When they get home I dance around and wag my tail so they know how happy I am to see them—I don’t want to be left alone all day! There have been times when I’ve forgotten to wait to go outside to potty, but instead of doing it in the house, I’ll go in my crate. I love to play with my squeaker toys, and the people laugh at me when I thrash them around. I also push and pull my toybox and dog bed around the living room to keep them entertained. By the time everyone is winding down in the evening, I’m happy to relax with them and take naps, and maybe even get a treat or two!

I can’t wait until this cold winter weather is gone so that I can go on even more walks and I can catch all the good sniffs along the way! I also get my energy out by running around the backyard and, on those beautiful summer afternoons, I find a nice sunny spot to lounge like a lizard.

If you are looking for a beautiful beagle girl to lounge with in the sun, or to walk around the block, or to feed yummy treats (!), please consider adopting me into your home.
