My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Update 03/16/15: Jack is a 10 year old, 5.5 pound yorkie that is being fostered in Grapevine, TX. He came into rescue when his owner didn't have the resources or the time to care for him. He is a very sick little boy. Bloodwork showed he had a very serious infection and an under active thyroid. He is on medicine for both of those conditions. The under active thyroid has caused him to have hyper pigmented skin which is very dark and almost looks like he is covered in little black pimples. He also has a large amount of flaking and a condition called seborrhea. He has to be lathered with a special shampoo and sit with it on for 10 minutes daily to clear up the skin conditions. He also has two very large bladder stones that make it very hard for him to urinate, and it also makes him incontinent. In addition it is causing blood in his urine. He had surgery on March 11th and had 26 teeth removed that were abscessed and infected. The vet wasn't comfortable doing his bladder surgery at that same time, so he is having the bladder stones removed on March 25th. In the meantime, he is wearing a belly band.

Jack is a very sweet, gentle little guy that just wants to be loved and cared for. He is such a good boy about all the treatment he is going through right now.

He won't be available for adoption until he is completely recovered from his treatment. That being said, UYR could sure use some financial support for this little guy. He deserves to feel better, and we can't treat these little angels without support from caring people.

Please stay tuned as he progresses through his next surgery.

Initial Bio 3/13/15 Jack was surrendered due to his owner's inability to continue to care for him. He desperately needs a dental with extractions, special baths for his skin condition and further evaluation of his urinary issues. Watch for updates as we continue with his vetting.
