My story

My name is Niko and if you read about “the meaning of names,” you know that people with this name have a ‘deep inner desire for a stable, loving family or community, and a need to work with others and to be appreciated.’ That is true of me too, even though I am a cat! I had a home, but my owner moved and was unable to take me with them. Thank heavens the AWLMC saw what a beautiful and loving fellow I am (they have ‘cat radar!”) and brought me to this great shelter. I am extremely affectionate and enjoy showering my humans with love. Friendly? Check. Loving? Check? Playful? Check. Will I keep you company and snuggle with you at night? You bet I will. Do you love a kitty who will gladly climb in your lap for some love and attention? What can I say? I like to be close to you. I like to play, especially with toy balls and wand toys. I am an active wildlife spotter, count on me to identify bird and squirrel activity outside the windows, especially if you have a cat tree I can keep watch from. I am looking for a fun, active home to call my own. Do you have room for me in your heart and home for a little guy like me? I was born in 2013.
