My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Summer is a four year old Dutch Shepherd mix (she was adopted, so we don’t know her exact breed). She weighs 60lbs and is trained, healthy, friendly and loving.

Summer is spayed and up to date on all of her shots. Summer was adopted 4 years ago and is originally from New Orleans. She has been very well cared for and loved over the last 4 years. Summer's personality is energetic and eager to please as well as spirited. She is a very loyal and friendly dog. She needs some work on getting excited about other dogs but she is a very intelligent and trainable dog.

Summer wants to learn new things and new tricks. She can balance treats on her nose and flick them up to eat them. She rings a bell with her nose at the door to go outside, she absolutely loves going for walks, rides in the car, she loves giving high fives and hugs, she will talk with you and howl back at you. She has a lot of personality and spunk. She is also very affectionate and will sit on the couch with you and cuddle watching movies / TV etc.

Summer is up for adoption because our family situation has changed and we now have a very small baby that Summer does not get along with. Also, Summer typically does not get along with other dogs. She should be in a home with a yard and a family without any other dogs who will give her plenty of exercise, love and play time. Her family is very sad to see her go and hopes she finds a new home that is stressfree and loving. Summer also goes by the nick-names Badger and Little.
