My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Shelby. She is estimated to be 1 ½ years old. Shelby has not had the best life so far. She once had a family who loved or so she thought. She became pregnant because her owner chose not to spay her. Once her pups were born her owner decided he no longer wanted her or her puppies. He took them to Walmart to give away free to good home. We all know what free to good home means. It means free to anyone who takes. This is very dangerous thing to do with such precious lives. He gave away all her puppies right away. They puppies were only 4 weeks old. They still needed their mama for at least 3 more weeks but owner did not care he just wanted them gone. No one wanted Shelby so he took her and dumped her in a high kill shelter.

We immediately pulled Shelby from the kill shelter and were able to locate one of her puppies. We offered to let Shelby nurse the puppy until fully weaned. The new puppy owner was not very nice and only let Shelby nurse her baby one day. They decided to give the puppy away so they no longer needed Shelby. We were unable to find out who they gave her puppy to. Shelby was devastated. She was briefly reunited with her baby only to have her ripped away again. This was very hard on Shelby.

Shelby has endured more than her share of heartache in her life thus far. She was beyond skinny when we pulled her and was clearly starving as she would inhale her food. After a short time she realized food was plentiful and she would never go hungry again. She now eats with others and is doing great.

Shelby has the cutest smile you will ever see. She shows all her pearly whites. It kind of looks likes she growling but of course she is not. It is just her funny yet perfect smile. Shelby loves to play. She enjoys toys and will fetch…when she feels like it. She knows basic commands and does well on a leash. She is the sweetest and most lovable girl you will ever meet.

Shelby is up to date on her vaccinations, spayed, heart worm negative and is on preventatives. All she needs now is her very on family. She loves her foster mom and has lots of fun with her but knows it is not her forever home. Shelby wants a forever home. If you have a place in your heart and home for Shelby, she would love nothing more than to be your girl. ADOPTION FEE $450
