Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Marty is an almost 1 ½ year old lab mix. He is small to medium, but quite mighty. He has a lot to say, all the time. He is quite a barker. He likes people to be aware that he is around, and seemingly in charge. He is aware of all of his surroundings, and makes it well known with a loud deep bellowing hound sound! He likes to run and chase after things, too! Birds, squirrels, and rabbits in the backyard don’t really stand a chance against him. He lets them know that the backyard is his territory and they are not welcome. Even cars including the FedEX and UPS drivers are given a run for their money. He is definitely a chaser and needs a fenced in yard to be able to freely run and get all of his energy out.
He lives with a 3 year old Lab/Shepherd mix and they get along like brothers. They play hard and they sleep hard and do that part well together. They don’t like to share their toys, bones, or food, so they have to be separated during those times. Marty is crate trained. He likes his own space, and goes in when he seems to need some quiet time. He knows basic commands at this time, and is getting better walking on a leash. He is mostly house broken and getting better on more of a strict schedule. He gets along with other dogs(not sure about cats) and he would fit best in a house with kids at least 10 or older.
If you would like to meet this dog please call Cindy at 630-779-7307. The adoption fee is $200.
