Merkley is a DSH Chocolate Point Siamese Mix Neutered Male d.o.b. 6/24/14.
We need a special home for a special kitty. Merkley looks handsome and suave and perfect - and he is all of those things in his own unique Merkley way, but the truth is he is FIV positive (Feline Immuno-deficiency Virus) and is visually impaired causing a lack of depth perception. Because of the FIV, his veterinarian recommends that he be an indoor kitty and the only cat in his adoptive home. His visual impairment causes his ‘goofball’ side to come out – “Uh-oh! I misjudged and clipped the corner again” His adopters could have some fun creating safe routes for him to run, jump and climb, like smaller steps to go up and down on and off chairs, beds, window sills and cat trees.
Otherwise he is a typical Siamese kitten: loves kitty soccer and pretending he is a goalie as you roll the ball toward him; likes jumping up for toys on a stick that you dangle for him; and pouncing on balls in a track (TheTurbo Tracker is his favorite, because you can’t lose the ball and it has a cardboard scratcher in the center). When playtime is over, and he is tired and sleepy he prefers a lap to take a snooze in, but will settle for his kitty bed.
He has been raised by people since he was about 3 weeks old, so he is very fond and trusting of people. He comes when you call him by name and will walk with you to go where you want him to go (like get dinner).
Merkley is box trained and is up to date with his FVRCP and Rabies vaccinations. He has been encouraged to use cardboard and sisal scratchers.
