My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Abby is a beautiful 14.1 hand mare. There is a video available at https://youtu.be/xDQDAQ5YWWA of her ridden Western and a video at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sj15Vzi4_90 of her ridden English
so you can see everything she can do. We assume she is a Quarter Horse and we estimate her to be 16-18 years old. She completed 30 days of tune up training this past summer. We don't know her prior history but from what we can tell, she has had some training in the past. She has had some exposure to barrels, steer tracking/moving cattle, and she has been ridden out on trails, alone or in a group. She's great with crossing obstacles (limbs, creeks, steep banks), riding by traffic, and crossing water. She will ride bareback with a halter as well as under saddle. She will sidepass over to gates and let you open gates off her. She's not at all spooky with new noises or sights. She will go all day at whatever speed you want, so she may have potential for endurance riding or long distance trail riding too.
Since her tune up professional training, Abby is at a foster home and is being ridden several times weekly and has been started over jumps both in the arena and cross county. Abby is now jumping 2 ft 6 in regularly and starting to jump 2 ft 9 inches. Abby is very sensitive to both leg and rein pressure and very responsive under saddle.
Abby has a scar on her left pastern where she had been injured previously. There are no restrictions on her riding because of this.
Our horses have received their basic vaccinations (Rabies vaccine, EWT combo vaccine) at the time of adoption. They have been dewormed and have a negative Coggins test as well. All horses have received a hoof assessment and trimming. Horses are also microchipped.
We do our best to determine what amount of training they have had and to represent them as accurately as possible. However, we usually do not know the history of our horses, so we determine training by how the horses act after we get them.
CARE provides one week free boarding until you can pick up your new horse. Adoption fees are negotiable to the right home.
