My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi! My name is Butch and I'm a member of AARB - the Amazing Assortment of Retired Beagles. But, like a fine wine, cheese (Mmmm . . . . cheese!), or good scotch, beagles just get better with age, at least in my opinion. If you adopt an AARB beagle from MW BREW, we even come with an ARF card! Hahaha!!! I crack myself up!

The good folks at MW BREW rescued me in December and, unfortunately, I tested positive for heartworms. So, I've been in my foster home for a few months but I'm glad to say that I've finished my heartworm treatment. I won't need any special vet care other than keeping me on a heartworm preventative every four weeks year round but all dogs should take a heartworm medication every month so it's no biggie. And, those heartworm pills are really, really yummy! I am a very sweet and loving beagle and I love being loved. I like to sit on your lap, cuddle up against you, get my belly rubbed or be petted. I'm medium energy. I had to be kept calm throughout my treatment but now that the weather has gotten nicer, I'm showing interest in spending more time outside playing with my foster beagle brothers. I've gone for a couple of walks and I walk really nicely without pulling.

I do have a rather loud beagle bark so I probably would not do well in an apartment. I also have struggled getting through my foster mom's work day without having an accident so I would need a home where someone can come home during the day to take me outside and I would really, really, really love being in a home where someone stays or works from home. I enjoy walks, soft toys, and being with my family so overall I'm a pretty cool beagle boy.

Cute collar - $12, squeaky toy - $8.00, box of doggie biscuits - $5.00, having me as your very own beagle - priceless!
