Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Hi I'm Leonard! I spent some time in a Michigan shelter before being pulled by Midwest BREW. I'm an 8 year old hound. I'm mostly beagle, but probably have some basset hound in me because I have stubby legs and a longer body. You could say I'm a little (or a lot!) chunky, because I weigh about 56 pounds! My foster family is working on slimming me up by feeding me a good quality food, controlling my portion size and taking me on daily walks. The vet thinks I should weigh 45 pounds or less and I've already lost 3 pounds at my foster home!
I live with two other dogs and a cat here and I do very well with them. I was also friendly to all the dogs I met at a recent adoption event. I'm pretty quiet, but I have a loud voice when I do howl. I'll bark at other dogs I see out the window or sometimes when I get excited and get a little rowdy. I LOVE walks and really love to explore the neighborhood, catching all the scents. I'm not into playing much and don't care for toys. I'd much rather spend my time next to you getting petting or in my dog bed catching some z's. I don't really like car rides much and I'm not crazy about being in a crate. Luckily, I've been a really good boy in my foster home and they trust me out of the crate when they are at work. I stay in the bedroom on my dog bed and don't have any accidents or get into any trouble! In fact, I've had no accident at all in my foster home.
My foster family calls me a big, lovable teddy bear and have said I'm ready for my forever family! Please let the rescue know if you think I might be a good fit for your home.
Love, Leonard.
