Minca's Story...
My name is Minca. Exotic name, huh? Well, I'm told I'm a Lynx Point/Himalayan mix -- how's that for exotic? I'm also a fun-loving girl. If you can believe it, I was told I was not adoptable at a shelter because I'm missing my canine teeth. HA! I say. HA! That doesn't slow me down at all or make me any kind of 'special needs' kitty. I'm affectionate and love to purr and look and act more like a kitten than the adult that I am. All the volunteers who work with me comment on how incredibly sweet I am and how much I purr when I'm petted and brushed. And people do like petting me, as my thick plush coat is amazingly soft. I'm located in Redwood City on the Peninsula. I am a good sized girl at twelve pounds and about three to four year old.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Minca, a Oakland Himalayan cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Himalayan for sale in Oakland, or seeking a Himalayan cat from a breeder in Oakland.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Oakland already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Oakland breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Himalayan breeders who help with Himalayan rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Oakland paves the way for another one to be saved.
