Hazel's Story...
Now I have to tell you right off that these photos captured the quiet reflective side of my personality – five minutes after the kitty photographer left, I was zooming around the room, tossing my little catnip mouse in the air and jumping up on the couch to play with one of my kitty buddies! My name is Hazel and I am a darling little kitten who will be ready to go home in mid-to-late December once I reach two pounds and can get spayed. I am told that I am “irresistible” (whatever that means), a “troublemaker” (that sounds like fun!) and “fearless” (meaning I will play with anyone’s tail, be the tail of another kitten or the tail of a 15 lb kitty!). I would do best in a home with other kitties as I am super social and love to play and snuggle. I have tested negative, am up to date on my shots and will be spayed and microchipped before I go home.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Hazel, a Oakland Maine Coon kitten was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Maine Coon for sale in Oakland, or seeking a Maine Coon kitten from a breeder in Oakland.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Oakland already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Oakland breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Maine Coon breeders who help with Maine Coon rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Oakland paves the way for another one to be saved.
