Sidney's Story...
My name is Sidney. Or Sid. Or maybe even Sidilicious. Certainly not Sid Vicious! Hey, I made a rhyme, huh? That’s cool. And I’m a cool dude as well. I’m not a Maine Coon in looks but I’ve got the same big spirit as a Maine Coon, which is why the kind folks at MCA saved me from a bad shelter. Before that, I was in a bad hoarding situation so I’ve really seen some bad places, but I’ll tell ya - it hasn’t affected my spirit one bit. I’m mellow and purr easily and love hanging out on my back with my paws hanging up in the air. I’m good with other cats and probably dogs and kids as well. I’m just a great all around guy who’s been through some bad times and deserve the best of times now. I’m 9-10 years old but have been checked out and my kidney, liver and thyroid all check out great. I’ve had some dental work done so I’ve got a million-dollar smile now as well. I weigh 11 pounds, have been neutered, microchipped, tested negative and am up to date on all my shots. Oh, and I also play like a kitten, believe it or not!!!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Sidney, a Oakland Domestic Mediumhair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Mediumhair for sale in Oakland, or seeking a Domestic Mediumhair cat from a breeder in Oakland.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Oakland already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Oakland breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Mediumhair breeders who help with Domestic Mediumhair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Oakland paves the way for another one to be saved.
