Spicey's Story...
I'm Spicey. Now when you first hear my name, you might think that means that I am kind of difficult to get along with, or maybe a bit temperamental. Well, nothing could be further from the truth! I’m your classic Maine Coon gorgeous brown tabby girl who has a beautiful face (the photos do NOT do me justice!). I have a lovely full ruff and look like a round beach ball when I sit up because I have so much fur! I’ve very easy going and “low maintenance” - little attention goes a long ways with me! I enjoy using a scratching box, especially if it’s got a little of catnip rubbed on it. I might just roll around on it – I’m not a girl who’s concerned about her dignity! I'm two years old and weigh about 7-8 pounds. I’m spayed, tested negative, up to date on all my shots, and am microchipped. I am pretty much “sugar and spice and everything nice!”

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Spicey, a Oakland Maine Coon cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Maine Coon for sale in Oakland, or seeking a Maine Coon cat from a breeder in Oakland.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Oakland already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Oakland breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Maine Coon breeders who help with Maine Coon rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Oakland paves the way for another one to be saved.
