Fiona's Story...
Hi there! I am named Fiona because, well, Fiona is the prettiest name that my foster Mom could think of for me and she wanted a pretty name because I am so pretty! I’m told all the time that I am very, very pretty and I have a great personality to boot – I purr loudly and often, I am super affectionate and I make biscuits even when you just speak to me! I have a rich, thick full coat and bushy tail and seat, and a darling little white diamond on my nose – and just look at my white paws and toes! I weigh twelve pounds but I look much larger. I seem to be a pretty typical Maine Coon not only in my looks and personality but also in my social nature – I seem to get along with just about everyone! I am up to date on my shots, spayed and microchipped.
I am living on the Peninsula (south of San Francisco). Contact ninelivesfoundation@gmail.com

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Fiona, a Oakland Domestic Shorthair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Oakland, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair cat from a breeder in Oakland.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Oakland already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Oakland breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Oakland paves the way for another one to be saved.
