Lily's Story...
Helloooo. My name is Lily and I am a lot in common with the flower I’m named after. For one, I’m GORGEOUS. I’m also somewhat delicate: I can be a little shy with new people (but will warm up quickly) and would prefer a home without loud people (I mean, really, why would anybody need to be loud?) or children or other kitties. Grooming my beautiful coat is fine as long as the tummy is done quickly and I do have to watch my 15-pound weight a bit. Isn’t that just the way with us beautiful flowers? But I’m docile and will let you know when I need some attention. Oh, and I’m hoping it’s okay that I bring my favorite pal – an oven mitt – to my new home as I’ve carried it around since I was a kitten. I am 5 1/2 years old, have been spayed and am up to date on all my shots. If you’d like more information on me, contact Elaine at elaineln@pacbell.net or 510-482-6179.

Other Pets at Maine Coon Adoptions

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Lily, a Oakland Maine Coon cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Maine Coon for sale in Oakland, or seeking a Maine Coon cat from a breeder in Oakland.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Oakland already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Oakland breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Maine Coon breeders who help with Maine Coon rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Oakland paves the way for another one to be saved.
