Luther and Umbra's Story...
Why, hello there! Our names are Luther and Umbra. We are cutie patooties and best buddies who need to be adopted together. Luther – that’s me with the gray tabby coat – is a bright confident boy who adjusts quickly and is quite curious and able to stand up to even the big kitties. He’s also quite charming and, really, just everything you could want. He is about 4.5 months old and a little guy at almost four pounds, so he has some growing to do! Umbra means “smoke” or “shadow” and it matches her darker coat. She’s a little more shy and needs some time and love to learn that big humans are kind and loving. Umbra is about ten weeks old and just over three pounds. Really, we’re just a perfect matched pair of kittens who are sure to bring a ton of joy to any house willing to take the time to help us adjust. We will been fixed, microchipped, tested negative and up to date on all our shots before we go home.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Luther and Umbra, a Oakland Maine Coon cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Maine Coon for sale in Oakland, or seeking a Maine Coon cat from a breeder in Oakland.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Oakland already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Oakland breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Maine Coon breeders who help with Maine Coon rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Oakland paves the way for another one to be saved.
