Macy Gray's Story...
Hey everybody, my name is Macy, like the famous singer Macy Gray. I was named that because I'm an oh-so-cool gray kitty with white boots and because I have a fabulous voice and can sing in many voices. The funny thing is I’m not big on being in public -- you know, like at adoption fairs or centers -- so I’m not “out there” and able to meet people like the other kitties. But I can tell you that while I am a little shy at first I quickly warm up and, when I do, am the sweetest kitty around. For instance, I will roll over and show you my tummy (like in the photo above), and look right into your eyes with my soulful eyes. I'm very smart -- I'll meow when you call, follow you around the house and greet you at the door. I would be best as an only kitty because I always want to be the kitty near you and sitting next to you. I'm about six years old, weigh 12 pounds, am spayed, tested negative and up to date on all my shots. If you’d like to check me out LIVE on video, go to

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Macy Gray, a Oakland Maine Coon cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Maine Coon for sale in Oakland, or seeking a Maine Coon cat from a breeder in Oakland.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Oakland already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Oakland breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Maine Coon breeders who help with Maine Coon rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Oakland paves the way for another one to be saved.
